Elephant Ears & Dancing And Mr. Right

~
This is the second year in a row that my Elephant Ear plants have bloomed. I found out from my father-in-law a few years back that they could bloom. I don't know what I did right to make them bloom, but am happy to see their beautiful bloom. I took a few pictures of the bloom yesterday. I put a piece of red foam board behind it to help bring out the bloom's color.

On dancing and Mr. Right... well they had a bit on Good Morning America this morning about how a man dances can be an influence on how women see him as "Mr. Right". Well.. Frank (my DH) and I went to two dances before we were married. Neither one of us knew how to dance. When he held me in his arms on those slow dances I was pretty sure he was "Mr. Right". I don't think it was that much of a factor with me fallin' for him. I think his sense of humor is what really won me over and when he kissed me... well I just melted :-D

I still love Frank's sense of humor and I still melt when he kisses me.

  2. Finally got to stop by your blog and it is great! Your pictures are fantastic; I need a camera like yours. I can definitely tell you are a reader from your quotes and where did you learn all that about insects? Didn't know Elephant Ears bloomed either. I'll be checking on your blog from time to time.

  3. Thank you so much for stopping by flip flop floozie. The campground sounds wonderful!

Sharon... you are very kind. I'm not much of a writer.

I'm not the greatest photographer, but have gotten better with practice. I take lots of pictures of the same subject in order to get one that I'm satisfied with :-)

I don't read a lot of books, but do read a lot of quotes. A dear friend of mine got me hooked on them. I have a fairly large collection of quotes now.

I got interested in insects through my photography. I like taking pictures of small insects and see them really close up on my computer screen. They amaze me. I have an insect guide book, but most of my information comes from bugguide.net. That site has helped me ID many of the insects I take photos of.

There are 3 Elephant Ear plants in our yard and two have blooms. This was the second bloom on one of them and it looks like another one may be opening in a few days. Yesterday a bigger bloom opened on another one of the plants and that plant may have more in a few days.
