Yesterday - Faithful Fridays With Joy - Show and Tell Friday

Yesterday was my turn for the doctor. I've been feeling a little more tired that usual. First step was an EKG. It was fine. Next step is blood work. That was fun.... four tubes and my blood decides it will just trickle out. It took forever, but the nurse really didn't want to stick me again.

I was also given samples of Ambien CR. I took one of them last night and it was just a really weird night. I'm not so sure that I slept any better than I have been.

I go back in a week. Frank all ready had an appointment scheduled for then and our doctor wanted me to join him. Our family doctor is treating us as a couple. I think he thinks we are so close together that it is the best way to treat us :-) I usually ask Frank to come with me to my appointments because one word said from the doctor can send my mind on a tangent and I miss something that was said. I sometimes forget to ask questions... but have learned to type my questions out and then the doctor goes over the list with me.

Yesterday was my 100th post of my blog. I'm sorry to say that there is no giveaway at this time. Maybe on my 200th post or year anniversary or maybe just out of the wild blue.

Frank and I are really blessed to have each other. I'm grateful that we compliment each other so well.

I'm thankful for blue skies and trees that give fruit.


I'm grateful there are medications that help me breathe when the pecan trees are in bloom.

You may have noticed this broach in the picture of my Red Goose Shoes in yesterdays post.


The Christmas I was eight years old I was given a small amount of money (probably fifty cent) to buy myself something. I bought this broach at Rosenburgs. It was normally an expensive store, but at Christmas they would set counter bins up outside the door of the business and have jewelry on sale.... like three pieces for a dollar. The stones have fallen off the broach so many times. Then I super glued them onto the piece and they have stayed in place. The paint was gone from the broach and I made the piece look a bit gaudy by painting it. I've always liked the piece and wore it on my winter coats for many years. Now it sits in my Amish made cabinet with many other treasures.

I'm a Salt & Pepper Shaker addict... uh... collector. I don't really look for who makes the shaker sets; I just buy what I like.

I did a quick search this morning on this set. It has no markings, but I learned that is a Currier & Ives by Royal China.

This set has no markings either. I did a quick search and couldn't come up with anything. I bought this set because it reminded me of a set that Mama has of a cow.

I will probably share more of them as time goes on... I have lots and lots of them ☺ I've had to stop collecting because I can't find a place to put them. Time to figure out where I can put another cabinet ☺

Sausage!

Frank's brother gave us some venison (deer) meat. Frank made some great tasting sausage with part of the meat.

I know... deer are a beautiful animals and so are cows. Unfortunately I just can't bring myself to be a vegetarian.

Doctor Again --

Okay... you can skip this part if you want. Things about the doctor are mainly for me.. just a way to vent a little. Sometimes writing it down makes it seems less than it is ☺

You know you have been to see the doctor too often when everybody knows you by name in the office.

I received a Toradol injection and corticosteroid injection. A MRI has been ordered, but I have to wait until the referral goes through and that probably won't happen until the first part of next week. I hate the referral part of our insurance... it can take a while sometimes.

The doctor now agrees with me that it is my neck causing the problem... the C7 - T1 area. I'm hoping the injections and the Medrol and a couple of other meds I'm on will at least dull the pain and let me get some rest. It is hard to sleep when when your shoulder and neck are burning and stinging.

Okay that part is done ☺ Deep breath and live life.

Wreath -- Show and Tell Friday

I thought my wreath would be good for this post.

The wreath will probably be the extent of our Christmas decorations this year other than cards that will be displayed. I put together the wreath a few years back. It is like me... simple. The bow probably needs a bit of fluffing. The bear theme just seemed cute at the time.




Today I washed a few dishes. I managed to help with the laundry a little... so hard to do when you aren't able to bend.


Frank made Slum Goodie today. He made enough to put in the freezer. I'm so lucky to have Frank as my husband.


After lunch we went for our walk. It was 60° outside and the sun shining beautifully. The fresh air is so nice.

Show & Tell Friday and Rain!

Today for Show & Tell Friday I decided to show y'all that I do sometimes do a bit of work with a needle... not just the camera :-)

This first one is a crewel embroidery that I did so many years back that I don't remember when. For some reason I haven't tried crewel embroidery again. (A bit of flash glare hitting the lower part of the picture & frame.)

This next one is a counted cross stitch. I like it because it is how my DH and I feel about each other :-)

I have a dresser scarf that I started cross stitching on a few years back... can't exactly remember why I put it down... maybe it was when I injured my shoulder or wrist. LOL... I just keep falling apart. I'm going to get the scarf out and see if I can finish it.

It started raining last evening and rained all night long.. a nice steady rain most of the time. It has continued through the day and by 4 o'clock this afternoon we had about 4 inches of rain. We haven't had rain like this in a long time. It is very much appreciated rain.

I think we lived in Va. Bch. VA at the time.. I probably purchased it in Gloucester, VA or perhaps the Richmond, VA area. It is NORITAKE, MADE IN JAPAN, and has the green wreath mark with the M in the middle. It is made before 1941... I can't really find out anything about them. On eBay I espied a creamer with the pattern for $28.00 and a sugar bowl with the pattern for $35.00. I assure you that I paid under $15.00 for this set... that is my limit on salt & pepper sets :-) I think that this set probably had a tray that they nestled in. I just love the pattern
