IN THE MOOD
~
As Father's Day is approaching I think of my Daddy. Daddy passed away in January of 2000. He loved music and Glenn Miller was a favorite. Sometimes he awakened us to "IN THE MOOD" playing on the stereo about as loud as it would go. I hated getting up, but I've always enjoyed the tune and I enjoyed Glenn Miller.
I hope this music gets you "IN THE MOOD" for a wonderful day.

Sorry to her of you dad passing. My real dad passed a year later in Feb 01. I am lucky to have my step dad who raised me still around in ST. Louis. Big hug I know it is hard to go though that day with out him.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the loss of your dad. This music has me toe tapping right now :)
ReplyDeleteLove "In the Mood" and Glenn Miller's Band. I have a lot of their records. Dad's are hard to give up. Mine has been gone since 1975 and I still miss him!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that the music brings you fond memories. My parents danced to the old band tunes also.
ReplyDeleteThis explains a lot. I could never figure out where my dad got his love of swing music. Dad never said he liked Miller but he used to blast Hooked on Swing. lol Granddaddy affect 2 generations. When you are a kid it is kind a fun when your parent crank up the radio. I remember several times finding my dad asleep on the couch (or may he just had his eye closed) anyway the music was so loud that we could ear it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteChristina Aguilar came out with a version of Candy Man.

It isn't Grandady's version I'll tell you that much, so brace yourself. Of course mom says it is the girl in the video. : ) By the way Frank, it is the same girl through the whole video, except the scene at the counter. That is kind of a given. : )
Daddys leave an imprint don't they? What a sweet memory. (happy birthday to your son too:)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your blog today..still finding my way around blogland....I always love making new friends..I am posting about Disney so hope you will stop by.

Have a good rest of the week:)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about you daddy. I love old-timey music. A favorite is "On the Wings of a Snow White Dove". I also like "Chantilly Lace".
Love, Joy =D
What a great memory of your dad! I have lots of memories of watching Lawerence Welk at my grandmother and grandaddy's house and my mom playing all those old Hank Williams records that they had too.

OH and by the way, Zaroga, happy birthday to your son! (I just read it).

One of my absolutely favorite Glenn Miller songs! When I got married our first dance was to Moonlight Serenade (how different is that?). :)
