You just cannot visit the area and not See Rock City. I won't go into the history of this beautiful place... just got to their website and you'll find out a lot about See Rock City.
As you enter the garden you come upon this sign encouraging you to do no harm to Rock City.
The Sony f717 digital camera that these pictures were taken with was my first digital camera. Before that I used a Canon Sure Shot. I felt guilty wasting film and money... so a digital camera was a good choice for me in learning how to be a photographer. I have a lot to learn still... a very big lot.

Pussy's in the well
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Flynn
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout
What a naughty boy was that
Try to drown poor Pussycat,
Who ne'er did any harm
But killed all the mice

The sheep's in the meadow the cow's in the corn.
But where's the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack fast asleep.
Will you wake him? No, not I - for if I do, he's sure to cry.
There was a small meadow between the road and Rock City. Frank and I walked out into it and snapped some pictures.. I did put my telephoto lens on, but it didn't zoom in quite enough as I wanted... so I took the picture to my digital dark room and cropped it.
I will post about more areas that are a day trip from Cloudland Canyon State Park.
The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as a foreign land. -- G.K. Chesterton
Good Afternoon Zaroga,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed going back to Rock City via your photos! It was Halloween when we were there last year. I would like to see it in the Spring.
Beautiful Zaroga. My husband and I always say that there is so much to see in the US...we always get off the expressway and take back roads just to see the country.
ReplyDeleteAs always your photos are gorgeous and that's a beautiful spot! I don't know if I could handle the swinging bridge though! lol!
ReplyDeleteI love traveling backroads and seeing the countryside!
Have a great evening, Zaroga!

Wow, I love visiting new places with you! Great and beautiful pictures. I love lover's leap. :) That suspension bridge looks fun, I think. Lol! I also love traveling backroads! It's then that you stumble upon those cute little shops or beautiful scenery you've never seen before!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful evening, Zaroga!
