St. Patrick's - Amazing Grace
~
It's Friday the 13th... but I'm not going to let that get to me :-) St. Patrick's Day is better to think about. I was going tell a bit of St. Patrick.... then I got lost in this site, The History of St. Patrick's Day.
Here is an excerpt about St. Patrick:
"St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling."
I enjoyed reading the rest of the real story . I also took the How Irish Are You? quiz . I'm not very Irish according to them :-) From studying my genealogy though... on my Mama's side of the family I'm Irish-Scot and on my Dad's side I'm English-Scot..... mostly. In reality I'm a mutt :-))
They also tell of some of the symbols and traditions of the holiday. If reading isn't your cup of Irish coffee... they also have a few videos at the site.
Dorothy over at Counting My Blessings sent me this beautiful video of the song, Amazing Grace.
I'm sorry that I'm behind in reading your blogs. The pain med, tramadol (ultram) got me very groggy. I felt like I was in a fog and I slept every time I sat down. The words on the computer screen were a blur. I dropped the med.
---------------------------------------------------------
May your troubles be less,
And your blessing be more.
And nothing but happiness,
Come through your door.

That is so beautiful Zaroga...it took my breath away. I hope your feeling better soon. I'm going to share that if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteMy mother is on the same medication that you are...Is it for pain or for arthritis...? Mother is taking it for the arthur in both of her knees and legs...I hope it helps you..so far it is helping her.
ReplyDeleteI know about not getting around to everyone's blogs..i am just getting worse and worse..I do well to get a blog in now and again..Take care..I do not like this dreary weather of late..
I take ultram occasionally for aches and pains because it's not supposed to be so bad on my liver. It doesn't make me groggy but then I'm not on them regularly. They do however make me feel kind of dopey. DUH!!
ReplyDeleteHope you can find something else for the pain.
Enjoyed the video!
My daughter and I went to Savannah one year just before St. Patrick's Day. I was amazed at the green water in the fountains.
